Back in the gym
4 miles on the treadmill, never old have made the 10 on the calendar, besides didn’t want to push it. 2 mile warm up 19:45  4 intervals .25 .25 .25 .35 @ 7:30 7:22 7:13 & 7:05 -> 6:49 pace Total 36:12 for 4 miles Now looking forward to next weekend’s Coogan’s 5k in washington heights! Off to the gym
Not sure how many miles I will do, no NiQuil last night so I should feel ok. Looks like I only will loose 2 workouts of any consequence, the race and some miles today, I don’t think I a, going to run 10 today. And thanks for the ‘feel betters’ ;)

Feeling a bit better

Surprise surprise
Today was a bit of a lazy day, presidents day, so no work. Finally dragged my butt to The gym at 12:30 I thought it was going to be one of those tough runs since I was dragging and thought I was going to be stiff and heavy legs too. NO Race today......
just a great 10 mile run, on the treadmill, i could have been tougher and ran outside in 25 degrees and 20 MPH wind but, climate controlled, 80’s and classic rock music videos. I asked Marc if we could up my miles by a miles a day since i am feeling good after my recovery 2 weeks ;-) now just to not over train. As far as no race today, i am just itching for a race…..but i will be good...

Training for NJ Marathon officially begins Monday!
I have been good since the Miami Half, runs with some easy miles but nothing too hard. Still did 9 last Saturday and have another 9-10 this weekend. With 87 days to NJ I am am getting a good feeling about the prospects for a very good result at the marathon with 1 intermediate half in about 45 days. Also I think I will have a more solid base going into the spring and summer, haha and careful...

Last morning in Miami
Its 5:35AM, mostly packed, just need a shower then off to the airport for the flight back home to NYC. After 8 plus days this vacation is over, just about, and i guess i needed it more than I thought. The race was good, a good test, another lesson another step closer. Lots of reflection time. It will be good to sleep in our own bed. no looking forward to going back to work.
