It's official! New PR by 29:58!
My Miami Marathon is 4:49:21 ;) a new PR! Chris (my partner) finished finished his first Half too! We are now showered, lunched and napped! Full race report later ;) Thanks for all your good thoughts my friends!

2.5 hours to the start
I might have had one of the best pre-race sleeps I have had in a while, not quite 8 hours but stated dozing at about 8:30 last night and now breakfast almost done at 3:50am. Lots of pasta last night now it’s just get to the start and get this pasty started. So my plan is, 10:15 pace, there are no hills here, just a few bridges and not very high ones so nothing major there. Fuel every 45...

T minus 1 Day
6am flight from NYC to Miami, there were 5 or 6 others headed down to miami for the marathon on the flight with us, we are all checked in and have had lunch and a nap, next up, pick up some breakfast stuff and pasta dinner with family and early to bed! It’s an early wake up again 3:15 or 330 for breakfast and line up for the start at 5:45…… More thoughts on the race plan later

1 Week to go
this was my last training weekend for the Miami Marathon, nothing left now, just a few easy runs this week, and fly to Miami. Both days I probably ran a bit too fast, 10k @ 55:54 which is less than 2 minutes off my 10k PR, and then today 10 miles @ 1:40:00 again just a little fast even with the walking with some sprints. Neither Rain, Snow, Sleet.....
oh right, I dont have to go to the gym today ;-) and now no driving since its snow. ice, rain sleet here……(i get to work from our other offices mass transit in the icy is much better than driving) feel good after this weekends 2 day marathon and 29.3 miles overall, I plan on throttling back the intensity a bit this week, still putting in about 30 miles. next week will be lighter...

Tomorrow is my off day
Had a good run today just 5k 9 min pace, it’s good to feel improved fitness level. I can think back to 2 weeks before Miami last year and I feel so much stronger. Weekend marathon done...
20 miles on a treadmill ;) 3:24:53 10:15 pace 1st 6 miles at 9:50 pace Next 5 miles at 10:43 pace Next 5 miles at 10:31 pace Last 4 miles at 9:46! And there was gas in the tank, I think my pre-run nutrition and in run GU-ing at 45 min intervals worked! My concentration we goodnthrought the entire 20 miles although miles 9-13 were the hardest. 1st run of a weekend marathon

Cold and Windy in NYC

Only 1485 miles to go
like any other marathon, counting backwards the first miles especially in getting to 1500 miles for a year always is kinda funny when you look at it, I got 5 miles in this morning and feel real good. Slow start but
It was definitely slow to start this morning but after a mile it just felt better and better. 5 miles later had me ready for the day. Had my heart rade up to around 150 then 4 minutes into my cool down it was 95 ;) 10 more days of hard training and I will be ready for Miami.
